Set a preferred screen so the NeetoRecord desktop app always records from the same display, even after you unplug and reconnect it.
Setting your preferred screen
The screen picker appears only when two or more displays are connected. With a single display there is nothing to choose, so NeetoRecord always records that one.
Open the NeetoRecord desktop app.
Under the recording options, click the row that shows your current screen's name.
Tick Always record from this screen.
Click the screen you want to record from.
That screen is now remembered. NeetoRecord selects it automatically the next time you open the app, and re-selects it whenever that screen is reconnected.
How it's remembered
Your preferred screen is identified by its position in your display arrangement, for example the screen on the right, or the one above your laptop, rather than by the device itself. This means:
It survives disconnecting and reconnecting the screen.
If you swap two monitors, NeetoRecord keeps recording the screen in that position.
Small nudges to a screen's alignment won't lose your preference.
If the preferred screen isn't connected, NeetoRecord falls back to another available screen, then returns to your preferred one as soon as it's plugged back in.
Opening the app on another screen
On macOS the menu-bar icon appears on every display. Clicking it opens the NeetoRecord window on that display, but it does not change your preferred recording screen. Your recordings still use the preferred screen.
Removing your preferred screen
Click the row that shows your current screen's name.
Untick Always record from this screen.
NeetoRecord stops remembering it and uses whatever screen you pick next.
